米CIT、破産法適用申請

中小企業向け融資などを手がける米ノンバンク大手のCITグループは1日、米連邦破産法11条の適用を申請したと発表しました。米企業の破綻としては、６月に破産法を申請したゼネラル・モーターズ（GM）に次いで5番目の規模となります。同社には昨年12月に米政府が公的資金23億ドルを注入しており、今回の破産申請に伴って回収不能となり、国民負担が発生する初の事例になりそうです。
