テニスのウィンブルドン選手権第4日は24日、ロンドン郊外のオールイングランド・クラブで行われ、男子シングルスの1回戦、ジョン・イスナー（アメリカ）とニコラ・マユ（フランス）の対戦は、2日連続で日没中断のため3日間に渡り繰り広げられ、テニス史上最長記録を更新する11時間5分に及ぶ死闘の末、6-4、3-6、6-7、7-6、70-68でイスナーが制しました。
